LEWISBURG, PA. – The Seton Hall women's swimming and diving team finished up its second day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday night that would see another record-breaking swim and two wins.
Swimming
The night would begin for the Pirates the same as the night prior. After breaking her own record in the 500 Freestyle last night, senior Allie Waggoner stood on the precipice of breaking her own record in the 400 IM. After closing the butterfly leg in third place, Waggoner would dominate the remaining 12 laps. She would touch the wall with a time of 4:13.83, nearly three seconds faster than her prior school record of 4:16.78.
While not having any A-final swimmers in the 100 Butterfly or 100 Breaststroke, the Pirates would do significant damage in the B-finals of both events. Shun Qi Lim would lead all Pirates with a time of 56.51 in the 100 Butterfly. In the 100 Breaststroke, a trio of Pirates would put up a fight. Lea Moeller would finish in second in the final with a time of 1:03.66. Alongside her, Lauren Schofield and Naima Hazell would touch the wall with season-best times of 1:05.67 and 1:05.78, respectively.
In the 200 Freestyle, Natalie Heim nearly joined Waggoner's record-breaking ways this weekend. The graduate student dominated her heat, touching the wall with a time of 1:48.04, claiming overall victory by over two seconds and falling 0.04 seconds shy of tying her school record in the event.
