Waggoner Provides Record-Breaking Swims on Opening Day of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, PA. – The Seton Hall women's swimming and diving team finished up its first day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational on Friday night that would see record breaking swims.

Diving
In the 1-meter board today, The Hall's divers put in a solid mid-season effort. Junior Amy Kugelman ended the day with a score of 183.15, while freshman Sarah Behrman ended the day as the highest-finishing Pirate with a score of 194.55.
Swimming
In prelims, senior Allie Waggoner would claim the top seed in the 500 Freestyle, breaking her own school record by nearly eight-tenths in the process with a time of 4:46.71. In finals, Waggoner went on to claim overall victory in dominant fashion with a time of 4:44.97. With that time, Waggoner lowered her record from the morning session by an additional 1.74 seconds.
The 200 IM saw senior Mia Sunseri finish as the top Pirate with a time of 2:04.81, within a second of the time she set at last year's winter invitational meet. Senior Lauren Schofield also competed in the event, finishing nearly seven-tenths faster than she did at this time last year with a time of 2:08.08.
With the Pirates second chance at an individual win on the line in the 50 Freestyle, sophomore Naima Hazell finished the day with a season-best time of 23.22. Outside of the A-final, Lea Moeller and Natalie Heim would finish with times of 23.53 and 23.66. Both times were season bests and around two-tenths off their personal bests.

The Pirates return to action on Saturday morning for the second day of the Bucknell Invitational. Prelims get underway at 10 a.m., with finals set to begin at 6 p.m.
