
Aguilar Leads Pirates to Finish at Delaware

REHOBOTH BEACH, DEL. – Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) and Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) shot a 1-under-par, 71, to lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to an eighth-place finish in Delaware on Sunday.

Aguilar had five birdies and 10 pars in route to a 1-under-par, 71, while Tran had four birdies and 11 pars. Aguilar tied for 14th among 65 individual golfers with a 6-over-par, 78-73-71-222. Today was Aguilar's second sub-par round of her young career.

Tran shot up the leaderboard with her stellar round three performance to tie for 19th overall with an 8-over-par, 77-76-71-224. It was Tran's first career sub-par round.

As a team, The Hall had its best round of the tournament with a 13-over-par, 301. For the three-round event, the Pirates were 50-over-par with a 311-302-301-914. Host Delaware won the team title at 17-over-par. Two BIG EAST opponents were also in the field. Georgetown placed third at 21-over-par, while St. John's finished ninth at 54-over-par.

Freshman Amelie Gras (Elancourt, France) shot a 9-over-par, 81, in round three. For the tournament, she tied for 37th place with a 16-over-par, 75-76-81-232.

Junior Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) finished her tournament with a 7-over-par, 79, in round three. For the event, she was 21-over-par with an 81-77-79-237.

Rounding out Seton Hall's lineup, senior Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz. Spain) shot an 8-over-par, 80, in round three. Over the weekend, she was 22-over-par with an 81-77-80-238.

Competing as individuals, sophomore Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) shot a 5-over-par, 77, in round three, while junior Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) had a 12-over-par, 84. For the tournament, Rane tied for 26th with a 13-over-par, 77-75-77-229, while Todorovic tied Sarrias Pro with a 22-over-par, 77-77-84-238.
