Over the years, Seton Hall University has been the site of choice for several marquee photo and video shoots highlighting some of the greatest athletes in the world on both the collegiate and professional ranks. On Sept. 7-8, the athletics department hosted yet another high-end media event.
Over the course of the last month, Speedo had searched for the perfect pool to highlight its new line of swimwear and ultimately chose Seton Hall's Arthur E. Imperattore Natatorium and invited three of the nation's greatest international swimmers of all-time to feature in the shoot.
After a set-up day on Sept. 7 which included the installation of cameras and lights both above and below the water line of the pool, the athletes arrived on Sept. 8.
Combining for a total of 21 Olympic gold medals in swimming between them, Natalie Coughlin, Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps, arguably the greatest Olympian of all-time with 14 gold medals, spent the majority of the day at Seton Hall shooting video and posing for a litany of photos for Speedo.
Recent Seton Hall graduate and 2011 BIG EAST Most Outstanding Swimmer Kevin Webster has spent much of the summer training with Phelps in Baltimore.
The private event provided an opportunity for Seton Hall to show off its swim facilities to the international community.
"Thank you to everyone at Seton Hall for helping to make my photo shoot run so smoothly," said Ryan Lochte. "The facility was perfect!"
