
Women's Tennis Defeats Pittsburgh, 4-3

MONROEVILLE, Pa. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team defeated Pittsburgh, 4-3, on Sunday. Despite losing the doubles point, the Pirates (6-2; 3-0 BE) won 4-of-7 singles matches to earn their third consecutive win in BIG EAST play.
Pittsburgh native, sophomore Amanda El-Tobgy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won her match against Leah Friedman in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5. Junior Nadja Sein (Tallinn, Estonia) won in No. 3 singles play, 6-3,-6-2, improving her record to 5-0 in that slot.
Sophomore Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) came back after dropping the first set, 2-6, and won her match after taking the second and third sets to tie-breakers. Senior Iva Gyurgina (Radomir, Bulgaria) also won her match in after the second set went to a tie-breaker in No. 6 action.
The Pirates host St. John's on Tuesday, Mar. 27 at 2:00 p.m.
